Dr. Smith was born and raised in Florida and completed his Bachelor of Science degrees in both Chemistry and Zoology at the University of Florida. He chose to stay in Gainesville to attend the UF College of Medicine. Although his education and experiences at the University of Florida were incredibly rewarding, Dr. Smith felt it best to continue his training in a new environment. He subsequently moved to Charlotte where he completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery. Like so many others, Dr. Smith fell in love with the Charlotte and Lake Norman area and decided to make it his permanent home.
Dr. Smith is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Smith treats a wide variety of Orthopaedic problems, but his special interests include arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee, joint replacement, and fracture care.
Dr. Smith lives in the Lake Norman area and in the summer you can usually find him out on the lake wakeboarding or water-skiing. His other hobbies include weightlifting, running, biking, swimming, volleyball and golf. |
